| Hey y'all, Happy New Year. Here are 10 things I thought were worth sharing this week: - A big list of 100 things that made my year. (This is my 5th year of doing this list — hopefully it hasn't gotten too boring.)
- In case you missed it, here are 20 good books I read last year.
- I'm totally knocked out by the reissue of Saul Steinberg's The Labyrinth. It's an American classic.
- My youngest son started drawing at Christmas last year. Here's what a year of his drawings looked like.
- Thousands of copyrighted works are now in the public domain.
- Matt Thomas on Ricky Jay.
- Reminder: Utopia is not a destination, it's a direction.
- A friend took me to see comedian Nate Bargatze last week, and if his Netflix 1/2 hour is even 1/2 as funny, it'd be well worth watching.
- TV: An appreciation of Justified, one of my favorite shows of all-time. (Speaking of favorite shows, I will admit that I was a little lukewarm on this season of The Good Place, but "The Janets" episode turned that around.)
- RIP Bob Einstein.
