View this email in your browser Hey y'all, Here are 10 things I thought were worth sharing this week:  Children and artists both need the right combination of time, space, and materials.   I'm reading David Hockney and Martin Gayford's A History of Pictures. (It is excellent, but I might like their version for children even more!)    What pictures of horses can teach us about art.   My hero Lynda Barry on Design Matters. (I cannot wait for my copy of Making Comics to get here.)   Kurt Vonnegut on how we're all bummed out because we're comparing ourselves with the world's best.   Some Keep Going inspiration: Painter Sylvia Fein is turning 100 this month and celebrating with a show of 70 years of her work.   In haunted house movies, why don't people just leave the house?   Why are there Ten Commandments?   Dumb cat video: my kids can't stop watching Cinderblock. They even make Cinderblock fan art.   We can now add Blade Runner to the list of stories set in a future now past. Thanks for reading.
