Does having a day job mean making better art?
I'm currently reading Frederic Gros's A Philosophy of Walking and Ursula K. Le Guin's The Lathe Of Heaven, which is good, but because it is all about dreams and sleeping, knocks me out about 2-3 pages in. (Did you know UKLG put out an electronica album?)
Community and creativity in mundane retail spaces.
This 2005 BBC4 interview with Kate Bush touches on so many things that interest me: the creative process vs. publicity, motherhood and art, digital tools vs. the human voice... it's great. (Have you listened to "Cloudbusting" lately? Holy moly.)
Quick thoughts on writing.
In China and Japan a copy is just as good as the original.
Ear and eye candy: I re-watched Phantom Thread a few nights ago and it was even weirder (and funnier!) than I remembered. (I love the soundtrack.) Also: Prince's long-out-of-print movie, Sign O' The Times, is streaming on Prime.
